Senjo
Compact Washing Machine
Senjo is an innovative washing machine designed for small spaces, such as dormitories and hostels, where space is limited, washing machines are scarce, and electricity consumption is restricted.
It employs an innovative method of garment laundering, In a ball, which rotates garments in all directions, thereby streamlining the cleaning process and rendering it portable, man-powered, and compact.

“Students, hostelers, and temporary residents often lack access to traditional washing machines due to limited space or financial constraints”
Washing in a Ball
By adopting a ball-shaped washing mechanism instead of a traditional drum, washing achieved a reduction in the amount of detergent required while attaining improved and efficient results. The 360-degree motion of the ball generates enhanced friction and inertia, enabling quicker and easier cleaning.
It leverages a few inherent positives and tries to overcome the following drawbacks of Hand-washing clothes.
-
One of the primary concerns associated with hand washing clothes is the substantial amount of water consumed during the process. Rosling's research reveals that each load of hand-washed laundry typically requires upwards of 70 liters of water. This high water usage not only strains scarce water resources but also contributes to increased water bills for households relying on this method.
-
The current hand-washing method for laundry involves manually agitating and scrubbing clothes in water to remove dirt and stains. It requires physical effort, time, and meticulous attention to ensure thorough cleaning - and leads to Physical pain, fatigue and lost time.
